GBR Olympic and Paralympic Coaches celebrated at Buckingham Palace

On the 22nd of October, GBR coaches Ben Peggs (Fencers Club London Fencing and Strength & Conditioning Coach) and Keith Cook, along with BF Pathways Director Steve Kemp, were invited to Buckingham Palace to join over 300 Olympic and Paralympic coaches in celebrating their important contribution to UK sports.

In partnership with UK Coaching and UK Sport, the event honored coaches from both the summer and winter Olympics and Paralympics for their vital role in helping top athletes.

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, patron of UK Coaching, led the tributes, and coaches had the chance to meet her in person during the reception. Also present were Stephanie Peacock, the Minister for Sport, and officials from the Department of Media, Culture and Sport, who came to recognize the incredible coaches behind Great Britain’s athletes.

This was the first time UK coaches were honored on such a large scale, with discussions about ensuring continued support for coaches in the future, so they can keep playing a key role in developing athletes at all levels. British athletes often shine on the global stage, and this event gave coaches a moment to be recognized for their hard work and dedication.
